PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING AND I HUMBLY ASK THAT YOU DO WHAT YOU CAN TO HELP US. THANK YOU VERY MUCH. TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE.

LADY (#388) who has been with us the longest is at THE TOP of the list. She is a very sweetcalm mild temperament pitty mix girl (black with white) who could make a very wonderful addition to someone's family. Her name is Lady because she is just that - a little lady. She has been vaccinated. Lady has been recently diagnosed with heartowrm disease. We do have a nice lady who has come forward and is willing to pay the cost of the treatment for Lady. We NEED someone to step up to the plate PLEASE folks with a foster or forever home.....I will get you in touch with the person that said they would pay for with treatment. Please don't wait for the next person to do it because I have been searching for over two months with no takers at all. We had one woman last week tell us she was interested but after repeated attempts to contact her after her original email, we have been unsuccessful in reaching her......We know and understand that the rescues and animal groups are full and have their own issues but GUYS - THIS IS IT FOR LADY! So, if you have been thinking about helping, here is your opportunity! If you can't take her in, I STRONGLY URGE you to cross post, email your animal friends & associates, and please call anyone who can help. This has to be a group effort and time is very short.....we need a commitment before Thursday morning...We have 36 hours from right now. "It only takes one person to throw an animal away but it takes a whole team to find it a new home!" We really need you on our team!

Second on the list is a new resident and the reason he is second is we do not have the capability, time, staff etc.... to be able to provide to him what he needs regarding his injury. We recently took in a black and white pitty / lab mix (best guess?) who was hit by a car and left for dead. His name isGEORGE (#412) and he is extremely friendly, loving, handsome, a little shy and seems to have a very mild temperament. The vet who X-rayed him says he is approximately 9 months old. The vet said that surgery for the femoral neck fracture (top of the femur near hip connection) would be the best case scenario for George (the estimate for surgery was just shy of a thousand dollars and that would include 6-8 weeks of rest, medications, follow-up care, etc....) BUT HE ALSO SAID GEORGE COULD HEAL UP ON HIS OWN IF HE WAS "CRATED & RESTED" FOR 3 TO 4 WEEKS!!! That of course would be wonderful if we could do that but it is not possible at the kennel. George needs a compassionate person to tend to him and his needs and obviously the 3-4 weeks of rest would be the less expensive way to go AND IT IS A VERY DO-ABLE OPTION. The doc said it is not the "optimal option" but because George is young, he probably would heal up just fine. PLEASE CONSIDER TAKING GEORGE AND HELPING HIM REST SO HE CAN RECOVER FROM HIS INJURY. I KNOW HE WILL BE VERY GRATEFUL. JUST LOOK AT THAT SWEET FACE !!!!!!!

I AM GOING TO GIVE YOU A BRIEF RUN DOWN ON THE OTHER DOGS AT THE KENNEL EVEN THOUGH LADY IS #1 AND GEORGE IS #2 BECAUSE IF WE CAN GET THE POPULATION / CAPACITY DOWN, HOPEFULLY THE KENNEL WILL NOT HAVE TO BE PURGED ON THURSDAY MORNING. PLEASE SEE THE FOLLOWING:

1.*****( #407) WE HAVE A LITTLE PUPPY / BABY WHO HAS NOT BEEN NAMED YET. HE IS ADORABLE AND REALLY NEEDS SOMEONE TO GIVE HIM THE ATTENTION HE DESERVES. HE IS APPROXIMATELY 9-12 WEEKS OLD AND WE CANNOT COME UP WITH A BREED. WE HAVE SEVERAL GUESSES FROM STAFF, VET, AND VOLUNTEERS SO HERE IT GOES: BULLDOG/HOUND DOG/ PITTY MIX?? HE IS CUTE AS A BUTTON AND IF YOU CAN TAKE HIM AND PLACE HIM - THAT WOULD BE SO GREAT. HE WAS FOUND IN A RETENTION POND NEAR THE PRISON. HE IS WHITE WITH SPOTS AND HAS TWO ROUND BROWN SPOTS OVER HIS EYES. THIS BABY BOY LONGS TO BE PICKED UP AND WANTS TO PLAY.

2. SADIE (#409) - SHE IS NEW AND BEST GUESSTIMATE IS BRINDLE CATAHOULA / LAB MIX. WE GOT THREE OPINIONS AND EVERYONE SEEMS TO BE CLOSE TO THE SAME PAGE BUT WHO KNOWS?? THIS IS AN EXTREMELY NICE GIRL WHO IS VERY FRIENDLY. SHE IS A YOUNG MOM (picked up as a stray with no puppies) BUT WE DID NOT HAVE A CHANCE TO BRING HER TO VET YET SO I DO NOT HAVE AN IDEA ON APPROXIMATE AGE. HOWEVER, I THINK IT IS SAFE TO SAY SHE IS YOUNGER THAN 2. SHE LOVES TO WALK AND WANTS TO PLEASE. SHE HAS NOT HAD ANY ACCIDENTS IN HER CAGE SO WE ASSUME SHE WAS HOUSEBROKEN & PROBABLY BELONGED TO SOMEONE.

3. ROSIE (#413) - SHE IS ALSO NEW AND IS A BLACK (WITH A LITTLE BIT OF WHITE) PITTY GIRL. WE DO NOT KNOW MUCH ABOUT HER OTHER THAN SHE WAS A STRAY AND SEEMS TO BE VERY WELL BEHAVED, CALM AND IS A VERY FRIENDLY GIRL. SHE HAS A SWEET FACE - take a look at her picture.
