2,000 miles on horseback
Several years ago, I visited a guest ranch in Colorado and took an overnight trip up in the Rockies on horseback. We rode for about 4 hours up the mountain, set up camp, ate dinner and watched the sky, where the stars were so close you felt you could reach out and grab one.
My overnight trip was one of the highlights of my travel experiences and my horse was a wonderful companion.
Our trip was only 4 hours so when I read this story about a guy who traveled from Oklahoma to Washington State on horseback, I was impressed and a little jealous. What a great adventure that would be. Take off on horseback, with a pack mule and your dog. Just think of all the people you would meet and the things you would experience.
