When the inn is full
I wonder sometimes if people ever think about what happens to the litter of puppies or kittens they allowed their female pet to have because they were either too ignorant, or uneducated to have her spayed.
Do they ever think about where those cute little bundles of fur, who should be living in a good home with a nice family, ended up.
Did they end up dumped in the woods when their new owner couldn't care for them any longer, starved to death or eaten by a predator? Did they end up in a household where they were relegated to the back yard, tied to a tree where they never have any interaction with people? Maybe they ended up in a shelter, if they were lucky, only to have their fate decided by an unknown number, or a misread growl or hiss.
The only way, even with all the good shelters and rescues do, to stop the killing and cruelty of companion animals is to have them fixed. Period. End of story.
