SHS helps with the rescue of dogs and puppies

23 puppies are available for adoption at Suncoast Humane Society after being rescued by volunteers from the Macon County Humane Society in Alabama. Suncoast Humane Society responded to calls for help by accepting all 23 puppies. They have been cleaned up, tended to by the medical staff and are now awaiting new, loving homes.
4 of the puppies were found left in a box next to a dumpster, 4 were abandoned alongside a county road and 4 were surrendered by an individual, financially unable to provide for them. Others were rescued from being euthanized at an animal shelter that does not have an adoption program.
In addition, Suncoast Humane Society is also looking for homes for 2 Chinese Crested (hairless) dogs that were victims of a neglect case in an undisclosed area. They were rescued following the investigation and trial process. The 5 year old male and 6 year old female are both eager to find that special family. If you are considering a special addition to your family, now is the time to visit Suncoast Humane Society.
The adoption fee is $75.00. All pets adopted from Suncoast Humane Society have been evaluated for health and temperament, spayed or neutered, microchipped for identification and are up to date on vaccinations.
Executive Director Phil Snyder, states, “Many of these puppies required special medical procedures. If you are unable to adopt a pet at this time, please consider a contribution to Suncoast Humane Society to help with their care. Only the support of the public allows us to help these animals in need.”
Suncoast Humane Society is open for pet adoptions seven days a week. Adoption hours are Monday thru Friday 11:00 AM – 5:00 PM, and Saturday and Sunday 11:00 – 2:00 PM.
