Homeless Handsome Harry

Last week I posted Handsome Harry. You see, Harry is approaching what many shelters consider old age. He is 6 years old and in many people's minds, he doesn't have much time left.
But.....let me tell you about Harry. He has so much energy, the first time I met him I thought he was a year old pup. He was running and chasing a ball and coming up to sit for treats. He was a little shy at first, but once he found out I had treats, he was like putty in my hands.
He is a whippet/pitbull mix and has the cutest face you would ever want to see.
Now Harry can be picky about his friends, but just think about it from his point of view. What if food was hard to come by? Maybe there was only one toy among 5 dogs. He is over 6 years old and not housebroken. What does that tell you about his former humans? (although my Buzz was also listed as not housebroken and spent all his time outside, he has only had one accident in the house and that happened when I first brought him home.)
Now, although Harry has a place to live and a really nice kennel, Harry needs a home. He is just a guest where he is at and would love his own family to run and play with. He is a little timid when he first meets you, but that is the way he is learning to trust again. He doesn't want to go with just anyone, but someone who will love him and not drop him off simply because he is picky about his friends.
If you have a spot in your home and heart for Handsome Harry, please contact Satchel's Last Resort at comments@Satchelslastresort.org and make an appointment to meet him. Let's make him Happy Handsome Harry instead of homeless.
