Please don't wait

I was having a conversation with a person I work with who has a beautiful German Shepherd mix dog. (funny how all my conversations seem to be about pets) She mentioned she was taking him to training classes and how much fun she was having and what a character he was. Then she mentioned the two girl dogs in class, her's is a boy and how she really needed to get him neutered before something happened. She just didn't have the money right now to have it done.
After I congratulated her on taking her dog to training classes, which is so important for dogs and their owners, I mentioned several area programs with low or no cost spay and neuter.
She had heard of none of them. She lives in Manatee County but works in Sarasota County. I thought the programs were doing a much better job of getting the word out about their availability. Apparently not, so please take note of several numbers where you can call and see about having your pet fixed.
Thousands of animals in our counties dies each month because of overcrowding in shelters. Please have your animal fixed and don't breed.
