Adorable, possibly deaf puppy needs home
This beautiful boy was just dropped off at someone's house and is in need of a rescue to take care of him or someone to adopt him.
He appears to be healthy but may be deaf. This was probably the reason for the drop off!
If you can help please email me at sweatherford@comcast.net and I can get you in touch with where he is staying.
This is Roscoe. He is 9 weeks old, has been de-wormed and has had his first puppy shots as of 6/18. To think the lady who had him for 4 weeks couldn't even do that for him just makes us angry. That is the only information I have on him.
At first the lady said she found him, then she said someone dumped him on her because she takes in strays, but couldn't keep him any long because her lease was up and she had to move. She still has 3 other dogs and cats. Go figure. They have spoken with the vet to see if there was any kind of test to verify his deafness. They said no, not without a specialist. But the stimuli I tried was the right thing.
As a footnote to my readers: Deaf dogs are highly trainable and just the same as a normal dog. You can read all about sign language and deaf dogs at http://www.deafdogs.org./ It is really not that different from teaching them anything else. So I will say hi at this point to Mattel, who was a deaf dog I found the perfect home for and now he sits at the Salty Dog with his dad and chills and Isabella, who survived a hurricane in Texas last year and now lives with a little adorable girl whose name is also Isabella. Both of them are doing fabulous.
