Meet Jeckle and Hyde. They are 7 year old Russian Blue Mixes and are front declawed. Russian Blues can be a little on the shy side like Hyde is. Their adoption fee is sponsored by Jessie's Fund.
History of the Russian Blue goes back to the 1800's. They are descendants of ship cats brought from Russia to Great Britain. Modern Russian Blues are mixed with Siamese and British Blues. They are a gentle breed and somewhat shy until they get to know you.

It has been a long week here with lots of events going on. However, cat adoptions are kind of slow. We had our St Catrick's Day Dance late Saturday night after everyone left. Hot Mama was supposed to sing; however she fell ill and had to go to the doctors instead. M.C and her band were wonderful. Rumor has it, Epic Cat record maybe calling them.
Ben stayed home that night. You see he got a phone call from Cinder. She told him the day had finally come, after 200 plus days in the shelter, she was going to her forever home. Ben was very happy for her, but sad, too. He never told her he was going to ask for her paw. He took back the rhinestone collar he had bought for her.

Each day as we sit in the shelter, folks come and go and we wonder will they take me? Each morning with great care, the kennels are cleaned, fresh water, food, litter boxes, blankets and towels are provided. Cat Cuddlers come in and help us pass the time by passing out treats and petting us. Staff is on top of any of our medical needs we may have and even take special requests like: HOW ABOUT SOME TUNA TO MAGGIE MAY'S ROOM, PLEASE?

Then it happens. The doors open and in come potential adopters. "Over here, over here."
we all meow. "Please take me!" Sometime we get to go in the viewing room to meet the potential adopter hoping they will pick us. WE are ready to go but maybe they decided today was not the right day. We hope they decided on someone in the shelter. We even root for the dogs, hamsters and rabbits to find homes. However once again the door closes, the lights go off and tomorrow is another day. As we lay our head down to sleep and pray the prayer in hopes that tomorrow our family will come. Please come and adopt your new family member. If you cannot adopt, consider sponsoring one.
Wish List:
We are very low on unscented, clay litter. Not clumping litter, please. Drop off some if you can to 2331 15th Street, Sarasota. Tell them it is for Maggie May and Toots.

Till next, week stay safe,
Toots and Maggie May
