Does this bother anyone else?

I gravitate to ads for animals. I don't know if it is the years I spent in the newspaper business building classified ads, or simply trying to figure out why people think by charging money for their "baby" they guarantee a good home.
The always popular craigslist is notorious for this. Ad after ad states, "Small rehoming fee to guarantee good home". What price can you put on your pet's head which will make you sure the pet is going to a good home? $25, $50, $75?
The ads which say $100.00 to recoup the vet bills, dog treats or food are just as bad. Do you think pets don't have to be fed, groomed or taken to the vet?
I am sure lots of people who peruse these ads will provide a good home. I am just as sure there are nefarious people who peruse these ads who may sell your "baby" to a laboratory for research. Maybe they will use the small, cute puppy as a bait dog for a fighting ring.
If you are naive enough to believe that everyone who reads craigslist has the well-being of the animal in mind, please think twice.
