Haven't rich people heard of pumpkin and green beans?
In this era of making do, when I read a story like this one, I have to wonder about the common sense people use sometimes.
Animals become obese because humans feed them too much. In many cases, they use food instead of affection with pets. Perhaps the excess food they are feeding their pets could be donated to a shelter which is strapped for food and take their dog for a walk. Anyone who reads animal news knows pet obesity is on the rise. Then, along comes the Travel Channel with a stories on pet resorts. The one featured on Sunday is in New Jersey. It will feature Weight Loss and Fitness Camp for canines. When I went to the website for Morris Animal Inn, no prices were listed. This means I can't afford to send Buzz. I wonder how many rescued dogs will ever get to visit this place? Maybe we can suggest they take a little bit of the money they would use for boarding their overweight dog, make a donation to a shelter, and buy some pumpkin and green beans.
