Pekingese looking for a home without children and other dogs, Eglin Air Force Base, FL

From: carla2985@cox.net

The pictures attached are of a dear little boy we have at our shelter. He's been with us since about July 2011. His name is Shanghai and as you can see his tongue hangs out, but he has no problem eating or drinking. He was surrendered to us as one of the children in the home developed allergies so they couldn't keep Shanghai. He was adopted to a family in Aug of last year, but was returned as they said he has a tendency to nip if he's doing something and you reach to him he will nip. I've also noticed sometimes when we try to get out of his kennel, he will try to nip at your shoe. I think he is just getting kennel stressed. I wouldn't let him go to a home with small children because of the nipping. He also wants to be the only pet in the home and he may bully another dog. He really is such a sweet little guy.

We are a no-kill shelter so Shanghai can stay with us forever, but it's not fair to him to stay in a shelter for the rest of his life.

Shanghai was born on 13 Nov 2007. He is neutered, current on shots and on heartworm and flea preventative.
