Most animals that enter shelter never leave

Bay County is up in the Panhandle of Florida. It is very rural and unfortunately, this doesn't bode well for the homeless animals who end up in the county shelter. Although the numbers are not good, they actually posted them with this story and the story is one of the best I have read about a county shelter. It is too bad so many animal advocates believe a shelter which must euthanize for space is the last place an animal should be adopted from. I believe we should do all we can to help our county shelters which can include pulling animals and promoting volunteerism to help with tasks which need doing.
Check out the story here.
