Special girl needs special home

Every once in a while, a rescue dog steals your heart. (actually, it happens pretty often)

Brownie is one of those dogs who stole my heart from the minute she came to Satchel's Last Resort.

We see so many rescued dogs who have such sad stories you simply cannot absorb the cruelty a human can inflict on a living, breathing animal. In a way, you become numb so the cruelty does not cause you to judge all humans by the actions of one.

Brownie came from horrific conditions in north Florida along with another dog named Diamond. Diamond did not make it through her heartworm treatment and we mourned her death but Brownie was not heartworm positive and she has thrived under Satchel's care.

She was tied to a tree with little to no interaction with humans, almost starved and she has blossomed into a beautiful girl.

She still has problems with loud noises but is overcoming her fear of strangers and when she knows you, she will crawl up in your lap to get kisses and hugs. Although she does play with some dogs, she would do well in a one dog family and she deserves that. She needs her new humans to help her with her shyness and build her confidence.
