Christmas wishes
The animals who live where I volunteer made a wish list up for me to give to the humans. They thought if they had someone who would put it out there, all their dreams would come true. Now, there are 45 odd dogs and 30 odd cats where I volunteer, so I had to get them to narrow the list down a tad to make it more manageable.
The list also had to be for the benefit of all the animals, not just individuals. Harry couldn't ask for one Kong just for himself and Mitch couldn't ask for just one cocoanut. You get the idea. This is what they came up with. I think you will enjoy it.
5. They all want more human time. They are stuck in kennels and cat houses every day and when volunteers don't come, they lose out, so more time with humans was important.
4. The cats have requested a bigger outside area to snooze in the sun and watch the world go by. (the dogs ask for something simliar, but there are just too many of them to accomodate that wish right now)
3. They really want more treats. Of course, I explained some needed to go on a diet, but they were having nothing of that. They like treats and want more.
2. They want money. Well, they don't want cash, but they want you to donate cash to the humans so they can keep providing support for us. Between food and medical care, electric bills and stuff like bleach and mops, it costs a lot of money to support us.
1. They want a permanent home. One where they will be loved.
So if you think you could make one or more of these wishes come true, please check out Satchel's here and see what we are all about. Read our mission statement and check out all the animals who call Satchel's home. If you would like to donate cash, we are a 501(c)3 and all your donations are tax deductible. You can mail them to 8101 Coash Road, Sarasota, FL 34241.
From me and all the 4 leggeds at Satchel's Last Resort, have a wonderful holiday season.
