Room with a view by Boris and Natasha
Happy Thanksgiving to all our fellow rescuers and rescuees. Natasha here, coming to you this beautiful morning from my home at Satchel's Last Resort.
I am not sure if we will get special treats this morning, since it is Thanksgiving, but I am keeping my toes crossed for good luck.
We have been extra busy here it seems the last couple of weeks. Lots of dogs and a fair amount of adoptions. I am so happy Lincoln got to go home last week. He was one of the dogs we featured in our last column who was very stressed being at the shelter. I am sure he is settling in nicely.
They moved Panda, this big American Bulldog mix next to us now. He is okay being next to us and likes to look out our door so he also has a room with a view. He is the same color as us, only lots bigger. A new dog went in his kennel in the front. Her name is Nika. She is an interesting light brindle color. You should come see her.
We also had a couple of young ladies come out and meet Misty, our little deaf dog. They are both animal trainers. What a perfect home that would be for our little deaf girl. She seems like she is nice enough but will need some training since she can't hear.
Her kennel mate, Plum, also got adopted so both sisters have found new homes. They are some of the lucky ones.
Isn't this weather great? Boris and I just love this cooler weather in the mornings. I love to frolic in the big yard and even jump in the doggie pool. He is much more reserved and just kind of hangs around the agility cat walk so he can survey the grounds.
I understand this time of year people are very giving. They give money and time to all kinds of things. We sure could use some more treats. Anyone willing to drop off a couple of containers of those soft, chewy kind? Maybe in honor of Baxter. He used to be the writer and he loved those soft treats.
Or perhaps you are feeling really generous and would like to adopt one of our dogs. We still have lots who need new homes. They would love to be able to spend the holidays with a new family. How about it? Anyone up for that?
Well, it is time for breakfast and you know how that goes. As Boris is so fond of reminding me, I haven't missed too many meals. Take care, enjoy the holiday and Boris will be back in a week or so with the latest happenings.
Happy Thanksgiving,
Natasha (and Boris)
