Inundated with small dogs

We all know small dogs are among the most requested from shelters and I just received an email about the abundance of small dogs at Miami-Dade animal services. Maltese, Shih-tzu, Silky Terrier, and a Bichon are some of the breeds listed as available.
This is a county facility and the dogs are not given a lot of time before being euthanized for space so they do what they can.
