Adopt a senior pet month
The HSUS is great at tagging months. November is "Adopt a Senior Pet" month according to the calendar. As the largest proponent of senior pets I know, I am throwing my suggestion out to all the blog readers.
Senior pets are the best! If you are thinking of adopting a new best friend, please consider adopting a senior.
Our local shelters are full of dogs and cats who simply need a home. Many of these animals will perish because they are not cute and cuddly as puppies and kittens are. Many of our local rescues and shelters also offer special pricing on adopting a senior. I have been featuring many senior labradors from Labrador Rescue of Florida, but the Humane Society of Sarasota County also offers animals adopted through Jessie's Fund, which was set up specifically for senior pets.
Please make it a wonderful month for a senior animal by providing a new place for them to call him. The rewards you receive will be tremendous.
