Finally, something is working

A friend sent me this wonderful story about banning retail dog and cat sales in cities. What a wonderful story it is. She wants us all to put our thinking caps on and figure out how we can do this in Sarasota. Read the story here and then send me your comments or suggestions. I am all for finding homes for all these unwanted companion animals in our county who end up in the landfill because they are killed due to lack of homes.
This would not stop a person from traveling to buy a dog, but it may make more people look at what is available at the local shelters and rescues which have dogs and cats of all kinds, sizes etc. Check out the Pedigree commercial which will tell you there is nothing wrong with these animals that a good home wouldn't fix.
