Trying to punish owners of unlicensed animals

If you own an animal in Sarasota County, it must have a tag. Tags for dogs have been around a long time. Even I can remember taking our family dog to get his license tag. This was so if the animal was picked up he could be taken back to his owner. Apparently, in Los Angeles, owners who don't purchase a tag go unnoticed. The law backs the owners up. If a dog doesn't have a tag, a citation could not be written.
