Bitten girl's parents enraged that dog might return home
I want to begin this item by saying I am sorry a dog will probably be euthanized due to having a stupid owner. That's right, a stupid owner.
The dog in this story has bitten before. Apparently not a bad bite, but a bite just the same. Then the owner takes the same dog, a German Shepherd, to a park where he allows a child to reach out to pet it and gets bitten in the face.
Why would he do that? Let me say I love German Shepherds. I believe they are gorgeous dogs and have known many who were wonderful family pets. They are also protective of their pack. In this case the owner had a new baby. In the dog's mind, he could have seen this child reaching as a threat to his family. He was being protective.
When you have a dog who can potentially cause damage and has already shown you they will bite, why take the chance and allow them in a public park without a muzzle on? He says NOW he will muzzle the dog if out in public. Now, when he faces losing the dog, he will take precautions. The sad part is, the dog bit a child in the face. The dog will end up being euthanized, never knowing what it did wrong. Stories like this make me sad another dog will lose his life because of a stupid owner and a child had to have plastic surgery to repair the damage.
