Catching up with old friends
In what seems like many years ago, in reality only about three, I helped place two dogs in the same home. Adopters who will actually take two dogs at one time are not normal, but then to take two dogs who have absolutely nothing in common is above and beyond. The reason I bring this up is simple. I was speaking to another rescuer who absolutely adored one of the dogs who was adopted. Her name was Krystal and she was a transfer from Ft. Myers. When Christine and I began speaking about her, we could not recall her name. I have helped place so many dogs in my life, even some of my favorites are hard. I can see them plainly. The names just escape me.
Krystal was adopted out with a greyhound mix named Steeler, who barked all the time. She was used as a breeder down south and was four years old when we adopted her and Steeler out to the same family. They went to live with two German Shepherds and we were so happy.
I have not ever heard anything back about them but am sure they found their forever home. So here's to double adoptions. They do happen. They do work out. To Krystal my love, I won't forget your name again. To all those I may have helped find at dog while at the HSSC, please drop me a line and let me know how they are doing. We always hope for the best but unless you let us know, we will always wonder.
